Mobility in rural areas

In many parts of the NORA area, public-transport planning is based on low-season ridership. The consequence is that, during the high season, there is often no room for residents on the buses, ships and helicopters that are primarily intended to serve their communities. This can lead to great frustration and contribute to out-migration. The project, which includes participants from the Faroe Islands, Norway and Iceland, seeks to develop innovative solutions that can meet the year-round needs of residents and the seasonal needs of visitors.
